Volvo World Golf Challenge 2015 - Bahrain Chapter
Bahrain, April 2015 - For the second year, Motorcity Holding in association with the Royal Golf Club will host The Volvo World Golf Challenge tournament in Bahrain.
Since its launch in 1988 as the Volvo Masters Amateur, more than one million golfers from all over the world have enjoyed competing in this exciting, friendly, stimulating and highly prestigious event. National winners are invited to the World Final which is run in conjunction with and alongside one of Volvo’s major professional titles, the Volvo Golf Champions. Here, they play for the chance of being crowned Champion of the World.
The 2015 Bahrain Volvo World Golf Challenge will be played at the prestigious Royal Golf Club in Riffa Views, consisting of three qualification rounds, with over 100 players per event, where golfers get the chance to participate in competitive but sociable and professionally-run events. The qualified players will then compete in a final round in the month of November. The winners of the finals will receive a complementary invitation to fly off to the World Final, an unforgettable golfing occasion which is held each year in an exotic location.

The winners of the Volvo World Golf Challenge Final across several countries will complete a journey that has begun with 500 qualifying tournaments worldwide involving 70,000 golfers in 37 global Volvo markets.
The 2014 Challenge took place over 6 qualifying rounds from January 2014 and has seen a participation in excess of 700 players. The final round was played over 18 holes at the highly acclaimed Colin Montgomerie-designed championship course in December 2014. The 2014 Volvo World Golf Challenge final will be held from 25th until the 30th of April 2015 in Shanghai, China, where winners from Bahrain, Mr. Faraan Irfan and Mr. Alan Vandewater will be competing against 72 amateur golfers from 32 different countries for the honour of being named world champion.
Mr. Faraan Irfan and Mr. Alan Vandewater both expressed how excited they are to compete in the Volvo World Golf Challenge tournament in Shanghai, China and that they will do their best to achieve good results.
During the press conference held at the Royal Golf Club on April 20th, Dr. Bijan Majidi, General Manager of Motorcity Holding, said: “Last year’s tournament was a huge success and we look forward to this year’s tournament.
