Volvo Premium SUV Collects MECOTY 2016 Awards

April, 2016: Volvo Cars’ XC90 premium SUV cemented its position as the Middle East’s leading car by winning the “Car of the Year” and “Best Midsize Premium SUV” awards at the 2016 Middle East Car of the Year Awards (MECOTY); The biggest, most coveted award of the regional automotive industry.

 

Voted through nomination and a 10 criteria scoring process, the XC90 premium SUV emerged as the jury’s overall top choice. With a 12-member jury of established and specialized regional motoring media, the MECOTY is the Middle East’s only independent and most credible automotive award.

To date the XC90 picked up 6 prestigious awards in the region. To name a few: Best Mid-Size Premium SUV – 2015 by Arab Wheels Award; 2016 Car of the Year and Best Premium SUV Award- 2016 by Wheels; Clever Clogs Award – 2015 by Motoring Middle East; Best Mid-Size Premium SUV – 2016 and Car of the year by Middle East Car of the Year.
